Alyssa + Joe Wedding

This was a couple that we met last year at the June wedding trade show. The very trade show that was a complete black out due to a freak storm. We continued meeting & greeting people by the light of our flashlights, and when all was said and done made some great connections. When Alyssa called to book us for her wedding for both Photo & Video, she said that we stood out amongst the darkness. Quite the compliment! We thoroughly enjoyed working with Alyssa & Joe over the past few months, during their engagement, and bridal shoots. And captured some Amazing shots! Their wedding day was beautiful at St. Anthony's downtown Greenville, Joe was all smiles at his stunning bride, they along with their fun-loving bridal party were a blast to work with. The Poinsett downtown was the perfect setting for their elegant reception. We are so Thankful for the opportunity to have worked with them, and be a part of this exciting time in their life. Their family & friends were so welcoming, and we really enjoyed the day with them!
Here are some of the moments we captured of this Great couple! Best of Wishes Alyssa & Joe as you begin your lives together!

A letter from Jennifer (a recent bride).

Early in 2009 I attended a bridal show in Spartanburg, SC. Since I had only been engaged for a few weeks, I knew very little about all of the many details that go into planning a wedding. Scheduling vendors was, at the time, the least of my worries.

As time went on, I found myself hiring a caterer, booking a reception location and buying a dress but had put very little thought into hiring a photographer. Our wedding location was Charleston, SC so when I started seeking a photographer I began my search there. After phone conversations with over a dozen providers my frustration began to grow. In most cases, I felt like the photographers did not really care about getting to know me and most of them did not show any interest in being a part of our wedding day.
As most of you know, attending a bridal show means giving your phone number and email address to hundreds of vendors. After I attended the show in Spartanburg, my inbox was swamped with “Let us be a part of your special day” email brochures. After a few weeks, those emails started to disappear. However, Better Tie was the only company that persisted in maintaining contact. Their name was constantly in the back of my mind, and when I decided to stop my search in Charleston they were the first company that I reached out to.
Through the entire process of planning our wedding, I made sure to hire vendors that were talented in their field and down to earth as individuals. My husband and I both have very close families and we wanted to make sure that our wedding day portrayed that bond. Hiring vendors that fit that mold was important to both of us.
Better Tie exceeded all of our expectations. They made an honest and heartfelt effort to make a connection with my husband, our families, and me from the very beginning. During my bridal shoot they went the extra mile to find locations that fit my personality in order to produce the bridal portraits of my dreams. They made the trip to Charleston a night early so that they could pick the best locations to take pictures the following day and even attended our wedding rehearsal so they would know the flow of the ceremony. On our wedding day they worked from sun up until sun down to make sure that all of the important details of our wedding day were captured. They spent time taking wedding party pictures with my bridesmaids and me on the beach and then traveled to the ceremony location to take pictures of my husband and his groomsmen on the grounds of The Citadel. They blended in with the surroundings and were sure not to pull us in a million different directions, all while making sure that they took pictures that we would be excited to look at for many years to come.
For those few, most important days of our lives, Better Tie was a part of our family. They cared about each of us and showed genuine concern in making sure that our wedding day was captured in the best way possible. They are wonderful individuals that operate on the utmost professional level. All that we have of our wedding day are memories… memories that Better Tie provided to us through their fantastic talent.

South meets West <3

In retrospect, we would like to highlight the wedding of Miles & Michelle Terry. Their breath taking wedding took place in Texas and was definitely a page out of every girl's book of dream weddings. We were privileged to not only capture their day through video but to truly be a part of the celebration of their relationship and wedding day. We first introduced you all to Miles about a year ago in our post "Just like the Movies", when Miles approached us about filming and producing his extrordinary proposal video. The proposal came from a nearly two year project that began with just a “front porch” idea Miles (groom) had one evening while he and bride Michelle were in law school. It ended with a bigger-than-life proposal on a 41-foot Big Screen in the historic 1940s movie theatre in Portsmouth, Virginia, The Commodore! The proposal came through an “All-In-One” 45-minute Movie Experience, written by Miles and produced by Better Tie productions. Every second, from the trivia spots, to the 3 previews celebrating various stages of Michelle’s life, to the main feature, captured Michelle’s greatest qualities and all of her favorite things. The final scene, just before the credits and the bloopers ran, ended seconds before Miles took a knee on the floor of the movie dinner-theatre to pop the question to the woman of his dreams. Michelle never saw it coming, but the magical tale of their perfect proposal was “just like in the movies.”

Miles and Michelle are an incredible couple, with a zeal for life and live with passion and determination. Upon meeting Miles one thinks to themselves "this man is destined for greatness" and who better to be by his side, tackling whatever life may bring but the sweet, generous definition of classy woman- Michelle. The qualities that both possess are not often seen or met. And we were excited to walk down this road with them. In the few months leading up to their wedding day, Miles and Michelle both graduated Regent Law school, studied for and passed the grueling SC bar exam! An enormous task on it's own, let alone paired with planning a wedding thousands of miles away. Their hard work and perseverance were met with wide smiles of joy as they stood hand in hand, the stunning bride and the southern gentleman; in a Gorgeous cathedral in Plano, TX. Their day was filled with so many touching moments of sentiment and beauty, from the gifts exchanged by the bride and groom before the ceremony, to the beautiful song resounding through the church sung by the bride's sister. Their day will long be remembered and it was nothing short of phenomenal to capture in video.

Many congrats Miles and Michelle as you begin your lives together! The Better Tie Crew
